Sunday 10th January RTÉ One 6.30pm

Contestants this week are from Derry, Waterford, Laois, Cork & Dublin

Third week of the Blind auditions, and the competition is truly on. In this week’s episode Kian reckons we will see the best performance so far in the show. There is bound to be a battle to win that contestant. The coaches bemoan the fact they don’t have any unique singers, is this the week they find a quirky contestant?

First to sing on this week’s show is 18 year old Matheus Soares. Matheus lives in Navan and came to Ireland 9 years ago with his family from Brazil. He loves soul music and will be singing One Night Only by Jennifer Hudson. He used to weigh a whopping 25 stone and slimmed down in just 12 months.

34 year old Marty Bonner from Derry works in construction and sings in a band at the weekend. He is hoping to get the audience rocking with ACDC Shook Me All Night Long. Kian loves his rock music will he add a rocker to his team?

Joy Isabel (31) was a child star in her native Phillipines, and will be singing Listen to your Hear by Roxette. Now living in Knocklyon her husband, 2 children and parents are with her for the audition. Her dad who is her biggest fan encouraged her to audition.

Sofia Lozano (29) has made Dublin her home after falling in love with the city and its music scene. Originally from Mexico she was the victim of a kidnapping, a taxi driver took her off and she had to escape from the car. She feels safe in Dublin! Singing Shakira’s Objection can she make it through to the next round?

Oonagh O’Gorman (32) from Belfast would like to be doing music 24/7. Oonagh is a real rock chic with her look and she picks Foo Fighters Best of You to perform for the coaches.

Ciaran O’Driscoll (27) originally trained as a classical singer, he did the Voice UK last year hoping for a chair turn. He reckons he caught them off guard and they didn’t know what they had in front of them. The Derry native will be hoping he can impress one of our coaches, Ciaran is not sure if they will know what gender the person is singing! Ciaran has an amazing range so will his performance of Radiohead’s Creep be enough to impress the coaches.

Moylan Brunnock (20) built her confidence and feels she should grab any opportunity she can…it’s all up to the coaches. Moylan hails from Dungarvan in Waterford and she is singing one of her favourite songs – Joni Mitchell’s Woodstock.

Young mum Sarah Daly (28) from Clondalkin in Dublin is hoping the Voice could be the start of something big for her. She is hoping Una will hit her button, as a mum of two she thinks Una will understand trying to bring kids up and also doing your music. Singing You Got the Love by Florence and the Machine.

Dan Roche (19) is this week’s 2FM Wild Card, and Jenny Greene reckons he could go all the way. Hailing from Waterford he says the hardest thing he ever had to do was come out as gay, he didn’t have a social life because he was ashamed of who he was, now he can be himself. Singing Let Me Love You by Ne-Yo he misses a couple of bars of the song. Will this scupper his chances with the coaches?

Loic Bontemps is originally from France and has been in Dublin just 6 weeks before his audition, he has taken some time out of his studies in UCD to attend the Helix today. He doesn’t really know who the coaches are at all! Singing Rocket Man by Elton John.

Tara Browne (25) from Laois has applied for the Voice and X Factor before but was unsuccessful, she has been practising and singing as much as possible since then and has done some YouTube videos. She feels she has a good chance as long as her nerves don’t get the better of her. Singing Glitterball by Sigma featuring Ella Henderson.

Kelsy Hoare (20) from Cork used to suffer from panic attacks but it hasn’t stopped her performing, she feels she has what it takes to be the first female winner of the voice singing Hozier’s ‘From Eden’.
