Irish band celebrating ten years of international success together
Just as Hermitage Green were supposed to be triumphantly celebrating their tenth year together as a band, 2020 turned out quite differently for the band members. When the pandemic broke out, much like their contemporaries in the entertainment industry and all fellow performers, they found themselves without the opportunity to tour Down Under as planned, and very soon after, could no longer gig in Ireland.
However, their newest single ‘West Broadway Girl’ released today Friday 9th October 2020 is an uplifting reminder to us all that we can still grasp the bull by the horns and overcome any obstacle in our way. It’s up to us all to pave our own path and be our own biggest supporter, even if it seems like the world is against you.
“West Broadway Girl song is about deciding what way you want to live your life, everything from what street to go down, what clothes to wear and who to love,” explains singer Barry Murphy.
“Don’t let anyone stand in the way of who you are and becoming who you want to be. Most importantly get out of your own way. You are the person who stops you most from doing things in life because of holding onto doubt in your head and putting yourself down. Listen to your heart instead and follow it. Every one of us come from the same star dust and we’re all connected, but we’re not the same. We’re all completely different and we’re all a complete mystery. Be a cool cat and live life like it’s a mystery.”
Before Covid-19 struck, Hermitage Green had been touring sold-out shows right across the globe, entertaining fans with their epic performance and irresistible stage presence throughout the Middle East, Australia, North America, United Kingdom and Ireland. Selling out iconic music venues and performing for thousands of people at some of the biggest festivals, this five piece folk-rock band has had the chance to share the stage with incredible artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell, Gavin James, Sigrid, The Trews and others.
