“Noah Reid struts his remarkable musical talent, delivering stylishly captivating music topped by his evocative voice.” – Medium (Premiere)
“A collection of folk-rock songs that explore the highs and lows of Reid’s life, told through Springsteen-inspired anthems and quiet acoustic moments that expose a personal vulnerability.” – CBC Music
He’s known for his role as the lovable Patrick in Emmy award-winning series Schitt’s Creek but Canadian actor Noah Reid has shown he has more than one string to his bow with the release of his new single ‘Honesty’ in Ireland this week.
Noah’s song-writing style, reminiscent of other legendary musicians such as Bruce Springsteen and David Gray, is a beautiful blend of nostalgic elements with a contemporary sound. His newest single ‘Honesty’ is an energetic and infectious folk-rock track which explores being completely bewitched by a new romance, and evokes comparisons to Bob Dylan, with Noah’s charmingly punchy yet passionate delivery and a catchy piano and percussion overture that crescendos into an irresistible groove.
Although fans of the show have been left wanting more of popular sitcom Schitt’s Creek, Noah is actively pursuing his other career as a musician. He is expected to land on these shores next year to tour his second album, Gemini, released in May 2020.
Noah already has a rake of awards and accolades under his belt for his gorgeously melodic sound, greatly inspired by 70s singer-songwriters. He has twice landed #1 of the iTunes US singer-songwriter charts and has been featured on four Billboard charts already, tipped as an emerging artist to watch by the globally trusted tastemaker. He was also nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Song for his work in the feature film People Hold On in 2016, to name but a few of his outstanding achievements in the music industry to date. In the same year he released his first album Songs From A Broken Chair.
Joining the cast in Season Three and a series regular since Season Four, Torontonian Noah portrays Patrick, son-in-law of Danny (Eugene Levy) and Moira (Catherine O’Hara) Rose in Schitt’s Creek, which just broke the record for the most amount of Emmy awards won in a single year by a comedy series last month, bagging seven gongs at the prestigious TV award ceremony. The series follows the trials and tribulations of a now-bankrupt couple who once bought their only remaining asset, the small town of Schitt’s Creek, as a gag. First aired on CBC TV in Canada in 2015, it became a runaway success when it was added to streaming platform Netflix.
Noah’s serenade of on-screen husband David (Dan Levy) has been deemed one of the most romantic moments of TV in recent years and marked a turning point in his music career, as fans new and old delighted in his tender vocals to an acoustic version of Tina Turner’s ‘The Best’.
While Noah was unable to complete a North American tour earlier this year due to Covid-19, there were some happier times in 2020 for the star as he married Canadian actress Clare Stone in July this year. The pair were engaged since December 2018.
