There’s edge of seat viewing this week as ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ continues with some death defying moves.
Ireland’s Got Talent continues this Saturday night, 2nd March at 7.30pm with another nine acts all hoping they can impress the judges on Ireland’s only variety stage.
Mother and son duo Sharon and Brandon Webb’s stunning performance last week brought the country to tears including Lucy Kennedy who gave them her Golden Buzzer, they join dance troupe BSD from Swords in Dublin and Sea of Change, an all-female choir made up of cancer survivors and supporters who are all straight through to the live shows. There are now just two Golden Buzzers up for grabs but will any of this week’s acts have what it takes to nab a remaining one?
Twenty year old Wy Mac is a singer who has come all the way from LA to perform for the judges. She has been singing from a young age and takes to the Ireland’s Got Talent stage with her parents anxiously waiting in the wings for support. Her father will be a face many people recognise as Olympic Silver medallist and World Champion Boxer Wayne McCullough. She has come a long way for her audition but can she now go ALL the way and make it through to the next round?
Alana Fox (19) has been performing since the age of 8 and is no stranger to the stage having made it to the 6 chair challenge in The X Factor in 2017 as part of girl group, Fae. Performing in front of judge Louis Walsh at Wembley stadium is one of her career highlights but can she now make it as a solo artist in front of our Ireland’s Got Talent judges?
Barry Darcy (38) is originally from Wexford and has been living with his wife and sons in Castlemartyr in Cork for the last 13 years. Singing comes easy to him having spent 10 years as an Elvis impersonator and representing Ireland in the World Karaoke Championships in 2014. Will our judges just see a tribute act or will they see something unique in Barry that will see him through to the next round?
Fionn McMorrow (9) from Sligo is returning to the Ireland’s Got Talent stage having made it to judges’ deliberations last year with his dancing partner Izzie. This real life ‘Billy Elliot is dancing solo for the judges, and last year’s disappointment has only spurred him on, he entered BBC’s ‘The Greatest Dancer’ and now he is hoping the judges will see something different this year and put him through.
Seeing is believing for dance acrobats Rebel Acro from Ballincollig in Cork. This troupe of 17 range in age from 10 to 18 and they perform lifts, catches, balancing at the top of a pyramid, handstands and somersaults. It truly is death defying. Will their mesmerising performance dazzle our judges enough to earn a place in the next round?N
Oisin McMullin (11) from Cabinteely in Dublin has been doing gymnastics and callinitics for four years and trains 3 times a week. With all this training you would expect a certain level of fitness and this ‘boy wonder’ takes it to a whole new level with an ability to bend his body in a full circle…backwards! He has already won a few competitions, is it his time to now shine for our four judges?
Odyssey (13–18 years) are part of a performing arts college in Cork called Montfort College. It’s one of the oldest and most established performing arts schools in the country. These talented dancers have all been dancing since they were 3 or 4 years of age and one of their highlights was being on stage with Lionel Richie at his concert at the Marquee in Cork. Will the judges feel they have what it takes and put them through?
There are two comedians this week hoping to make it through but first they need to impress the judges especially our resident comic Jason Byrne. Jonathan Sheehan (34) is from Offaly works as a health care assistant by day and a comedian by night, he is hoping to make a career from comedy and the first step in impressing our judges. Kevin Morrissey (44)from Limerick’s main passion in life is comedy, he has been performing on and off for the last 6 years and Dublin’s Helix theatre will be his biggest stage to date.
