Paul Harrington releases his brand new album today, Friday May 4th. ‘Lights of Home’ features nine original compositions and two live recordings of his classic hits – ‘What I’d Say’ and ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Kids’.
Paul has had a long and varied musical journey. Among his chart successes, include the hit albums, ‘What I’d Say’, ‘Paul Harrington – A Collection’ and of course he famously won the Eurovision Song Contest with what is now widely regarded as one of the best Eurovision songs of all time, ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Kids’.
‘Lights of Home’ is a collection of songs from some of the most talented songwriters in the business and also pays tribute to Paul’s family, including his late brother Derek (Juno Award Winner in Canada for ‘Traditional Roots Album of the Year’ in 1993). Derek co-wrote two of the tracks, ‘The Storm’ and ‘Love Never Fades’.
The album also includes tracks written by Eleanor McEvoy and Rory Gallagher (The Revs).
The very poignant and deeply touching ‘Song for Siobhan‘ is Paul’s personal heart breaking tribute to his sister Siobhan, they had a special bond and shortly after her passing Paul collaborated with Charlie McGettigan to write this very touching song.
Paul’s first single off the album is the beautiful ‘More Than Me’ penned by Irish songwriter Rob Burke and award winning Nashville based Angela Kaset .
Harrington says “This is an album that comes from the heart and soul.”
