RDC walk away as the first ever winners of TV3’s Ireland’s Got Talent
After months of searching the length and breadth of the country, thousands of auditions, three live shows and two wildcards…RDC were crowned the first ever winner of Ireland’s Got Talent tonight.
RDC proved the nation’s favourite tonight, walking away with €50,000 and their very own TV special on TV3 later this year.
TV3’s Ireland’s Got Talent came to an end tonight with a talent packed Grand Live- Final that saw RDC crowned the first ever winners of the series.
Thousands applied in the biggest ever Irish talent search. From young to old, puppeteers to aerial artists, talent from all walks of life took to the stage in a bid to impress the judges but it was RDC who stole the hearts of the nation tonight and walked away with €50,000 and their very own TV special on TV3 later this year.
Sysha Lilly Murphy and Kyle Hall aka Double Impact opened tonight’s final with a balletic and lyrical performance to ‘Cosmic Love’. These two young dancers are incredibly talented and Louis told them, “I love these two! Everything about them, I love your innocence, I love your energy, your personality and characters you are destined for stardom”.Michelle said, “ You are wise and you dance way beyond your years that was so beautiful”. Jason agreed with the others saying, “you are so professional you are doing really dangerous moves you should be in the West End”. Denise said, “every dance has been like a beautiful story, you are going to go onto big brilliant careers”.
Mum of two Linda McLoughlin had always doubted her ability to perform, but whenIreland’s Got Talent was announced she decided now is the time. She sailed through her first audition earning a Golden Buzzer from Louis Walsh, and since then she has grown in confidence and possesses an amazing stage presence. She sang ‘This is Me’ from the movie The Greatest Showman backed up by the Dublin Gospel Choir. Denise said, “The last line of that song…This Is Me ….I feel like we are finally seeing you and what a powerhouse you have become, you have given brilliant performances throughout the show I am so proud of you and you should be proud of yourself”. Jason added, “That was like of loads of effort with no effort you were amazing you can belt it out without trying”. Michelle said, “there is no going back to the Linda that you were this is you”.Louis said, “I gave you a chance but you delivered, the song was perfect and I loved the staging and the choir but the thing I loved most was you”.
Cork dance troupe RDC yet again delivered with a performance that was full of energy and rhythm. All four judges were full of praise for this 31 piece troupe. Michelle said, “What I really love about you – when we see the choreography we know it’s RDC”. Louis said, “told them you have done your homework and it’s paid off I know everybody in Cork is gonna back you guys”. Denise, the dancer on the judging panel told them “You are so in sync I loved the choreography and the energy. Jason was blown away saying “ that was absolutely flawless, you wrecked the gaff It’s in bits you are so talented you are the act to watch”.
FKKT stands for Fit Kids Fit Teens and this troupe hails from all over Leinster. FKFT is a dance movement where student becomes teacher and they dance together as a group, including everyone. Both of their previous auditions impressed the judges and tonight was no exception. Jason said, “I said it before If I hadn’t pressed my Golden Buzzer before I saw you I would have pressed it for you. Yous are deadly”. Denise said, “that just changed things a bit we have two big dance groups you are so you fresh contemporary and vibrant”. Louis told them, “The dances just get better and better it was so slick this is faultless’ Michelle ‘This is what happens when kids focus on dance instead of being on the street after school”.
Aaron J Hart’s journey on Ireland’s Got Talent has been one of triumph over adversity, and each and every one of us has been with him every step of the way. He wrote the lyrics for this song in 20 minutes just one day ago and with this performance he showed us exactly why he deserved to be in the final. Louis said, “ I want to tell you, you are the best role model for kids of Ireland if nothing else this is a showcase for your talents”. Michelle said, “this was a champion song this was amazing tonight” Denise said, “you can make me cry, you can make me dance, you are so talented. You had the whole crowd going.” Jason added, “this show is nightmare, it just keeps getting better and better. You are a star and you don’t even know you’re a star” .
Monday night’s Semi-Final did not go Matt Dodd’s way but when he got the call to be one of the show’s Wild Cards he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. A dream come true, this was one of the biggest nights of his life and he blew the roof off Dublin’s Helix Theatre with a powerful rendition of ‘Love Changes Everything’ Michelle said, “tonight I really enjoyed that Matt Dodd, I hope you know the gift you really possess you are unbelievable”. Jason told him, “Matt that’s a lot of noise for a little auld fella, I am convinced you are plugged into a speaker! It’s such a big song and you delivered it perfectly.” Louis said, “you are a world class vocalist ,as good as anybody I have heard on the West End it’s never too late follow your dreams”. Denise also loved his performance saying, “I have heard this song sung on the West End and you are as good as that, I think you are fabulous”
Xquisite, Denise’s Golden Buzzer act, are mini latin sensations who received a standing ovation on tonight’s show. Michelle said, “people don’t even have to know about ballroom, you get one feeling watching you guys and that’s joy”. Louis said, “You put a smile on everybody’s face I can’t believe that standard of dancing”. Denise was so proud of her act telling them, “ I can’t wipe this smile off this face I am bursting with pride, you are the ones to watch tonight”.
Zacc Milne was also thrown a life line for tonight’s final receiving the second Wild Card, with just a day to put together a mesmerising, energetic routine, he proved once again that he is a star in the making. Denise commented, “When you dance I don’t want it to end, it is so fresh, so unique and so clever, you are gonna have the most amazing dance career”. Jason said, “It is so exciting to watch you, you always do so many different moves I am delighted we picked you as a Wild Card.” Michelle said, “There might be people watching that don’t understand what Zacc is doing, this is more than a dance. What Zacc is doing is representing a group of kids that are maybe a little weird that are following their dreams”.
